Atlanta United are heading to the finals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after beating Orlando City 2-0 at Exploria Stadium on Tuesday night.

The visitors took a 1-0 lead before half-time when Eric Remedi redirected a Julian Gressel cross past Adam Grinwis after a period of sustained Atlanta pressure on the Orlando goal.

Grinwis made a nice diving save on a Emerson Hyndman shot to keep Orlando’s deficit at one goal, while Gonzalo Martínez saw a penalty shout as he went for the rebound from the attempt waved off when it looked like the referee might point to the spot.

However, Hyndman would find a second for Atlanta in the 79th minute, firing home a Franco Escobar cross to make it 2-0 and give Frank de Boer’s team some breathing room.

Atlanta will play the winner of Wednesday night’s other semifinal between Minnesota United and Portland (live on ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET) to determine the final matchup.
