In an excerpt from an interview with the ESPN Mexico show Ahora o Nunca, speaking in English, Mbappe said: “We don’t know what happens in football.

“A lot of great players come [to play] in the United States after their careers in Europe, like Zlatan [Ibrahimovic], Steven Gerrard, [Frank] Lampard, [Andrea] Pirlo, great players, so you don’t know. Maybe when I’m a bit older I can think about this.”

The France international completed his second season at PSG and is tied to the Ligue 1 giants until June 2023.

Mbappe recently said he wanted “more responsibility” at PSG and club chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi said he has spoken to the World Cup winner about these comments.

Mbappe has been a reported target of Real Madrid in recent transfer windows but Al-Khelaifi said he was “200 percent sure” the player will be at the Parc des Princes next season.

Meanwhile, Mbappe was asked whether he would select PSG if he was playing a computer game but opted instead for Liverpool.

Asked by EASPORTSFIFA which team would he choose, he answered: “Maybe Liverpool because they won the Champions League.”

Mbappe was then asked if he was a fan of Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, and added: “Yes, he is good.”
