Do Bayern have their sights set on Leroy Sane? Is Kieran Trippier on his way to Juventus? Plus, the latest on Lorenzo Insigne and Nicolas Otamendi.

Manchester City are set for talks with Leroy Sane in the coming days over a contract extension amid interest from Bayern Munich, sources have told ESPN FC.

Sane has two years remaining on his contract but Pep Guardiola wants the 23-year-old winger to stay at the club.

Bundesliga champions Bayern are pushing to sign the Germany international with president Uli Hoeness claiming interest in the forward, but sources have confirmed that City have received no formal offer for Sane.

When does the transfer window close?

Sane was the 2018 Young Player of the Year but has fallen down the pecking order in Guardiola’s first team with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva his preferred options in wide positions while Riyad Mahrez started the final title-winning game of the season at Brighton and the FA Cup victory over Watford.

Guardiola has insisted he wants Sane to stay but after the 6-0 Wembley win said he will not stop him leaving if he wants to go.

Meanwhile, City’s head of academy coaching Simon Davies has joined Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht, the Belgian club have confirmed.

Kompany left the Etihad Stadium after 11 years with the club to become the player-coach at Anderlecht and wanted Davies to join his backroom staff.

The former Manchester United midfielder played a part in the development of young players at City including Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho and Brahim Diaz.

He is expected to recommend a number of City’s academy players to join them at the Jupiler League next season.
