Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte handed debuts to summer signings Diego Godin and Nicolo Barella as the Nerazzurri beat Paris Saint-Germain 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in their preseason friendly in China.

PSG had looked set to claim the victory when Thilo Kehrer opened the scoring on 41 minutes. However, Samuele Longo equalised with practically the last kick of the game to send the match to penalties.

And it was Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic who emerged as the hero, saving twice from Adil Aouchiche and Arthur Zagre before Joao Mario stepped up and kept his nerve to hand the Serie A side the victory.

Barella, who joined from Cagliari was making his first start for Inter and, in the absence of Mauro Icardi, Conte picked Ivan Perisic — another player whose future is up in the air — in attack. Godin was introduced as a second half substitute.

Meanwhile, Ander Herrera and Kylian Mbappe were among the starters for Thomas Tuchel’s men with Edinson Cavani brought on in the second half.

PSG start their season with a clash against Rennes in the Trophee des Champions on Saturday Aug. 3.
