When does the transfer window close?

He said on Twitter: “After two wonderful seasons, today I say goodbye to Tottenham. It was a pleasure to wear this shirt and wherever I go there will be always a space in my heart for Tottenham and for their fans.

“I wish you all the best for this season and for the future! Thanks.”

Llorente was a free agent and drew interest from Russia and Mexico as well as Flamengo, Boca Juniors, PSV Eindhoven, Schalke and Napoli’s Serie A rivals Fiorentina.

However, he opted for a move to Napoli because he wanted to play Champions League football.

Llorente returns to Serie A, where he won two Serie A titles at Juventus before joining Sevilla on loan.

According to ESPN FC sources, Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti was key in bringing Llorente to San Paolo, having been impressed with his performances while at Juve.
