Club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele has left Tottenham Hotspur after the two parties mutually agreed to terminate his contract, the Premier League side announced on Wednesday.

Ndombele, who joined Tottenham from Lyon for €63 million ($68.26m) in 2019, leaves the club after just 91 appearances and 10 goals in his five years at the club.

The France international’s last appearance for the club came in January 2022, soon after which he went back to Lyon on loan for the rest of the season, making 15 appearances, but the Ligue 1 side opted against triggering the option to sign him permanently.

The 27-year-old spent the following season on loan at Napoli and was a part of the side that helped the club win its first Serie A title in 33 years.

He spent last season at Turkish side Galatasaray, where he made 26 appearances in all competitions, including four in the Champions League.
